The commercial use of personal data alongwith the trail of electronic transactions necessitated the Legislature to pass Digital personal data Protection Act, 2023. The objective of the Act is to process the digital personal data in a manner which recognises the rights of the individual to protect their personal data and the need to process such personal data for lawful purposes and matters connected therewith.
We advise and assist our clients to amend their existing business practises in compliance with the Digital personal data Protection Act, 2023. We also develop a Standard Operating Procedure [SOP] custom-made to suit the business of the client which is in alignment with the said Act.
When the data was first harvested, it was not anticipated that it could be misused for criminal activities and which required regulation. Today tech-savvy lawyers are necessary to navigate the maze of data protection and privacy laws and their implications, from all over the globe.
