SEBI permits MFs to invest in overseas MFs or Unit Trusts that invest a specific portion of their assets in Indian Securities.

Vide a circular dated 4th November 2024, bearing Circular No. SEBI/HO/IMD/IMD-I POD1/P/CIR/2024/149,  SEBI permitted Mutual Funds [MFs] to invest in overseas securities including MFs and Unit Trusts [UTs]. 


With a view to facilitate ease of investment in overseas MF/Ut and inter alia to bring transparency in the manner of investment, and to enable MFs to diversfy their overseas investments, SEBI has published the said Circular. The Circular has been drafted based on the feedback received from the industry, consultation with MF Advisory Committee and public consultation.
